About Nuvor

What it does

The Nuvor Cortex (NCX) reads thousands of stocks, funds, and ETFs, and your own portfolio, whether you practice with virtual cash, track your holdings by hand, or connect a brokerage for the live picture, pulling together multiple data sources (prices, fundamentals, filings, insider and institutional activity, news, and more) into transparent, plain-English understanding. It shows you the evidence and the why behind every read, helps you see how your holdings fit your goals and your values, surfaces what you'd never have found on your own, and never tells you what to do. Nuvor is informational and educational; it doesn't currently provide personalized investment advice or hold your funds.

Who's behind it

I'm Dave McKinnon, a systems and data engineer. For 35 years I've built the systems that turn an overwhelming firehose of data into something people can actually understand, monitor, and trust: monitoring, event management, security analytics, and observability for organizations across nearly every industry, from AT&T and T‑Mobile to United Launch Alliance, ViaSat, and Costco. The work was always the same at its core, whatever the sector: take a flood of complex, noisy data and make it clear and trustworthy enough to act on. Making complex data understandable isn't a pivot for me; it's the through-line of my entire career.

Nuvor is that same work, pointed at investing: take the flood of market data, signals, and noise, and make it transparent and understandable, so you can do your own homework, see the evidence for yourself, and decide what's worth owning. I'm building it in the open, as a small company (Nuvor, Inc.), with a handful of hand‑picked early users. No hype, no black box: if I can't explain why the tool says something, it doesn't go in.
